Orange Bronzer Is Out. Good Riddance.

It wasn't that long ago that almost every red carpet event made us question the sanity of the celebs makeup artists who went to town with too dark, too orange, too heavy blushes and bronzers. These tributes to George Hamilton weren't doing any favors to the celebs sporting them, though. It's nice to see how things have changed. Here are five different looks from the last few days. Whether sporting a dramatic dark lipstick (Charlize Theron, Thandie Newman), exquisitely done eyes like Kate Beckinsale or delicate and fresh like Blake Lively and Miranda Kerr, there's no more muddy cheeks, and we're all better for it.

Two Good Looks- Miranda Kerr and Victoria Beckham (indeed!)

This must be the first time I'm posting a photo of Victoria Beckham without the "fashion victim" tag. I really like her blouse and the outfit doesn't make her look insane. Of course, there's the hair issue, which unpleasantly reminds me of Kate Gosslin (can we stop the trend of people becoming celebs because of over-breeding?). I'd rather focus on the clothes. I think they have an almost vintage flair.

Miranda Kerr is one of the better dressed celebrities. She's always well put-together and doesn't look victimized by her stylist. This is another vintage-inspired look, and the faux-wrap dress is very pretty.

The vintage theme made me think about perfumes (I'm wearing vintage Rumeur tonight). I'd bet Posh would wear sneakers in public before she'd even consider putting on any of her atrocious drugstore fragrances, so how would you scent Victoria and Miranda in these outfits?

Seen Around Town- Items Of The Moment

Here are bits and pieces, looks and ideas as seen on celebs in the last week or so. Which ones do you like? What doesn't work for you?

White denim. I love it, even if not necessarily the way Kate Moss wears it. I like to pair slim white jeans with a colorful DVF wrap top and cute sandals. I think Hilary Swank pulls it off perfectly.

Red lipstick. The tricky part is choosing the right red for you. Do you think Angelina and Rihanna got it right?

Little dresses in bright colors. Nothing says "summer" like a yellow dress.

I like strappy sandals, I like platforms. Not so sure about these bondage gear, especially the way Beyonce paired it with awful denim shorts, and Rumer Willis' black manicure is just a bit too much. The last pair was seen on Evangeline Lilly in Cannes. A little different and not half bad.
